Meet Carla

Carla is a wife, mother, disciple maker, and author from Glen Mills, PA. For over 30 years she has walked alongside women growing together in intimacy with Christ, in friendship, in prayer, in accurately handling God’s holy Word, and in obeying it to exalt His name and advance His kingdom. Her passion is to see others find their joy and satisfaction in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and live as a catalyst for His kingdom in all their spheres of influence.

Author’s Bio

Background: Carla grew up in northeast Georgia with her brother and  parents attending church regularly. At the age of 12, she personally embraced  the good news of salvation found in Christ. As a teen, she served the Lord,  playing the piano for her church and led on the youth team for Lay-Witness  Missions sharing the gospel in various churches in Georgia.  

As a student at Clemson University, (B.S. in Science Teaching Mathematics),  Carla was discipled through a para-church campus ministry. During her college  days, she served a local church near campus as the female youth leader and was  the chaplain of her sorority. During her senior year of college, she met her  husband, Dale. They made their home in Paoli, PA. 

MINISTRY: Dale and Carla served in youth and missions at Church of the  Savior in Wayne, PA. Together they took part in mission trips to inner city  Philadelphia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Mexico, and Paraguay.  When they moved to the Richmond, VA, area, Carla partnered with Dale who  served as the mission’s leader at Grace Bible Church, Midlothian, VA. There  they developed the team and vision for becoming a sending church with an  emphasis on the unreached.  

She also developed and led the women’s discipleship ministry at GBC. When  they moved back to the Philadelphia area, Carla became extensively involved in  the women’s ministry at Christ Community Church in West Chester, PA. leading  Bible studies and teams of leaders. She currently leads a disciple-making ministry  called Equipped for Christ which entails discipling others to make disciples who  make disciples in the church. She engages in the non-believing community  leading and training others in Discover Bible Studies.  

PROFESSION: Carla left her secular profession as a high school math teacher  in 1989 to become a fulltime supportive wife, mother, homemaker, disciple maker, Bible teacher, and author. She taught her children via homeschool and  co-led co-ops for eight years. She also invested in the start-up and establishment  of Veritas Classical Christian School in Richmond, VA.

To bring people to a know the exalted, Most High, Living God of the Bible,

resulting in living for Him with wholehearted abandon,

honoring him with authentic worship,

experiencing the joy of trusting in Him and His Word and

representing Him as an ambassador of Christ

proclaiming His glorious name to all peoples,

teaching them to observe all that He has commanded.
